"Cannibis Club" Single Release Party

This has been a crazy year for us ... as far as where we are now and where we were towards the last four months of 2008 ....

Before we met Henry (manager) we were having trouble with all sorts of shit .. couldnt get enough studio time ... couldnt get shows ... and pretty much all that other good stuff that we needed to keep moving forward ...

NOW ... since then with the help of our manager we've put up our Official Website .. Music video .. 3Strykes clothing .. got our song on "Western Hospitality Mixtape" and we've released our long awaited single " CANNIBIS CLUB " with a release party at club V20 in Long Beach ...theres a lot of other things that i'm leaving out but as far as setting a foundation, thats what we've done in a short period of time

* BIG UPS to BLENDED EVENTS for always lookin out and thanks too BAD INFLUENCE TATTOOS for gearing us up*

So I guess you can say we got a lot of shit done ... but believe me when i say this ... IT WASNT A SMOOTH ROAD ...AhahHHhahhhH... but then again ... i dont think we'ld appreciate it as much if it wasnt a kick in the ass at times ... but overall we really feel blessed to have a great team around us who's supporting us at all time ...

but yea we're looking forward to the new year .. we're in the studio rightnow working on our new album which is going to be released June 2009 online and throughout california and hopefully all over the world ...

Met with the crew from The Butter Factory. They just threw a Halloween event on a floating platform along the river with over 3,000 attendees. Celeste and Yen were nice enough to give me the 411 on Singapore's hip hop scene. Very good people. Hopefully they'll help set something up w/3SK for summer 2009.

Our First Music Video

We shot our first music video yesterday at Calpoly Pomona. Man !! was it tiring standing up or crouching an then standing up somemO~ i aint in shape .. shits hard man .. thats why you don't see fat rappers runnin back and forth in their videos. But yea... it was a very good experience and another slap in the face as to how hard entertainers work. We loved it though, it was a lot more fun then i thought it'ld be. Our director Jacob was very patient with us cuz we tend to lose focus every 10 mins or so .. plus this was our first time doing anything like this but everything came very naturally for us, thank god !!!..... and also we wanna say thank you to our 3Strykes team of course .. Arga and Austin for stickin it out with us in the cold .. hahah .. we wouldn't be doing what we're doing without yall .. dats fo dayam sho .. nothing but love dawgys .. Arga had us hooked the fuck up with clothes that he had ALPINE STARS shoot over .. but that wasnt the exciting part .. its OFFICIAL WE GOT OUR OWN CLOTHING LINE ..."HATERS BETTA GET IT RIGHTTTT" ..~ we starting with three different designs .. but instead of describing it i'll let yall check it out for yourselves ... anyway ... the funniest thing happened yesterday while we were shooting ... as i was standing there gettin ready for "Action" .. i farted ..HA! but you couldnt hear it though .. a second later our director almost had a seizure hahah... sheit .. i guess the wind carried it over to his area hahah... we couldnt stop crackin up ...(wish we had that on film) but back to the video.. we were there for about 6 hours shooting .. this video is going to be played at our release party in december and youtube along with any other form of media outlets .. so hopefully it comes out the way we hoped... but either way .. it was a great experience .. something i won't forget anytime soon .. but we're not done wit the video jus yet .. we still have next week to finish it up .. so i'll end it here an continue once the video is done .. 3Strykes kWest " holla if you can "

It's day 15 of my Asia trip and my 4th day in Taiwan. I met some pretty good people so far, and I haven't had any problems with the local food... yet *fingers crossed*. Earlier this afternoon, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Lee at his riverside resort. He is a retired rockstar with many top 40 hits under his belt and currently the president of an independent record label operating under the umbrella of Sony Music. I let him preview some 3SK tracks and he dropped some knowledge on me. It's amazing how much you can learn from an experienced vet in just a matter of minutes.

The rest of my day was spent exploring the night markets and tasting the local cuisine... damn good shiz!

Wuttup people, I am JohnJon..... this name was given & stuck with me since childhood.... the reason being there were so many Johns around, so the homies would call and be like "who u wit?" they be like "i'm wit John", "which John"......"John Jon" and thats how my name came about..... I started music around when I was like 14, went to Korea and got into Producing... I was really surprized that Korea was into the HipHop scene.... and me being from L.A who was already influenced by rap and the whole HipHop lifestyle, had a chance to keep up with my craft, and my love for HipHop music kept growing.

Funny thing about how we came together as a group is.... Me, J, & Kwest... we already knew each other from Los Angeles, but we never knew that either of us rapped.... but somehow one day we met threw a mutual friend and was having a "smokin session" =) *wink wink* and we were like "you rap??" and the rest explains itself.....

Why did we name ourselves after some fucked up shit like that??

First off we ain't trying to knock all the real G's servin time especially those serving life. Can't even start to imagine what its like waking up to a room that isn't bigger then a bathroom. We have nothing but respect and wish the best for those locked up state. Our friends are up state serving life because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Life ain't always fair.

The three of us decided a very long time ago that we were going to be lifers and turn a negative into a positive. We were going to spend the rest of our lives behind musical bars. Its as simple as that. The rest is history......

This is my first blog ever .. tell you the truth I don't really kno what a blog is .. so i'm goin to assume its pretty much people writing whatever is on their mind. well instead of doin that i'm jus goin to tell yall a bit about myself .. I was born Albert Chang the oldest of two other Chang boys.. a buncha Ching Chong Changs .. anyway .. i was born at Kaiser june 23rd 1983 .. my dad was a hard workin engineer an my moms well she had her hands full pickin us up from school after some bullshit .. my dad was more of a mans man .. dont really show emotion .. mom strong an proud.. and i'm sorry for all the shit we put her through ..but we'll keep that for another blog .. ok so now back to me .. i got into music at a very young age .. i think i was about 8 or 9 my dad bought me this radio .. i still remember it .. shit i think i still got it here somewhere .. but yea .. it was this small little water proof sony fm am radio.. i had no idea what the hell it was .. i was lookin at my dad like .. " ok .. what do you do with it shit .. couldnt buy me a toy "?!?!? haha well i turned it on an the first radio channel i heard was k earth 101 .. now for those that dont kno .. thats a oldies station .. well what can i say .. I FELL IN LOVE .. that smooth melody of soul tripped me out .. now you gotta understand .. i thought it was modern music .. so when i got to junior high .. thats pretty much all i listened too .. so oneday i took a tape i put together and took it to school .. i think we had a casual day or something where we can bring in toys or music or watever it was .. anyway .. i brought my tape full of oldies ... and i put it on .. and everyone started laughin .. like who the hell jus put this old ass shit in ... awww ... little bastards ... hahaha.. anyway .. thats how i foundout about rap .. someone let me borrow their " WHOOP THERE IT IS " .. SHIT LET ME TELL YOU .. there it was ... i was stunned by what they did with their words .. how they made it sound so fluid .. now rap has come a long way since the Tootsy Roll but still.. when i first heard it .. i was hooked .. so a little after that i was writing little kiddy rhymes at home recordin on my lap top .. then not long after that .. i was writing rhymes at school .. ditchin school to chill somewhere wit J-riggs an rap all day long.. now that i look back ... all i can think about is ...
